No Surfing Today…there’s sharks out here!
Don’t want to read? Youtube version here:
I wanted to take a 30-day break from the internet. After fifteen days, I’ve made the decision to double-down until New Years. No Facebook, No Youtube, No Blogs, No News.
(The only exceptions are checking my email, the podcast, and building LifeAfterInternet.com of course)
I was tired of turning off Mobicip to access Reddit see what was happening on r/surf. Reddit is hilariously the worst place to have an internet-addicts hangout spot. The second worst place is Youtube, one of the places I’ve been uploading the podcast. I wanted to come up with a different means of communication. So I made the decision to drop off the face of the earth for a month, to get super bored, and therefore super creative. I wanted to create physical, offline means of communication for r/nosurf members. It only took 15 days but it worked. I have some aggressive new ideas for The War on Internet Addiction.
Exciting new developments to announce:
1. An actual mailed newsletter. This would involve you good folks emailing me your mailing address. I will be making and distributing this newsletter absolutely free to you. I am determined to build an offline subculture for us to enjoy. As ironic and silly as it may sound. If you have any posts, poems, stories, or pictures from r/NoSurf or r/NoFap you’d give me permission to publish, I’ll publish the son-of-a-bitch. Just shoot me an email at LifeAfterInternet@Gmail.com.
2. Actual phone calls. I’ve talked to a couple r/NoSurfers on the phone so far. I get the impression that people go on r/nosurf for the accountability, mutual understandings, and subculture. If you would like an accountability partner to talk to on the phone, shoot me an email and we’ll figure it out. Shit I’d love to jabber with any one of you fine folks. Just shoot me an email and we’ll get going.
3. Actual meetups. The Summer-17 LifeAfterInternet Road Trip. It’s August 20th 2016 as of this writing. In August 2017, I’m gonna fly, drive and cruise somewhere, anywhere. The list of destinations haven’t been decided on, besides Arizona and California. If you want to meet up for lunch or coffee in August 2017, shoot me an email.
My email is LifeAfterInternet@Gmail.com
Have fun out there in Brick&Mortar Land,
